Blueair Classic 605 Review: An Honest & Unbiased LookÂ
There aren’t many air purifiers out there that can go neck-and-neck with the Blueair Classic 605, at least not in terms of build quality and sheer air filtering performance – especially not in large spaces.Â
Sure, it’s unapologetically huge and quite expensive and lacks particular frills seen in similar high-end options, but it justifies all that with its compelling performance!Â
Unboxing the Blueair Classic 605 Air Purifier: Design & First Impressions
The Classic 605’s relatively minimalistic – there aren’t many bells and whistles to it.Â
Its overall dimensions, on the other hand, are anything but:Â
The air purifier’s housing measures 26 x 20 x 13 inches, so it’s certainly not the one to be squeezed in a tight corner. And although it’s not the most lightweight air purifier on the market, I’m willing to let the 35-pound weight slide, because the build quality is outstanding:Â
The entire thing is made entirely out of galvanized steel!Â
Plus, as hefty as it is, it comes fitted with four castors; room-to-room mobility shouldn’t be a concern.Â
As for the actual design, it somewhat reminds me of a slightly oversized computer tower, with its traditional-looking housing construction, sharp, rectangular lines, and white and grey color scheme.Â
Still, if anyone could pull off this simple, functional, stripped-down design, it’s the Classic 605.
Also, as far as setup goes, the filters are pre-installed, so it’s a plug-and-play type of unit.Â
You’ll find input and output grills on both sides, along with the top and bottom ones, allowing it to interact with the surrounding air as efficiently as possible. The front control panel includes three buttons for adjusting fan speed, enabling Wi-Fi connectivity, and filter replacement.Â
Putting the Blueair Classic 605 to Work: Performance & Effectiveness
Not only is it suitable for large, 775-square-foot rooms and open-concept spaces – one of the most extensive coverage areas I’ve seen in recently – but does so with utmost efficiency, too:Â
The unique HEPASilent Technology, which combines the benefits of mechanical and electrostatic filtration, is capable of eliminating up to 99.97 percent of airborne pollutants, including dust, dander, pollen, mold, smoke, and even airborne germs.Â
The CADR ratings of 400/400/450 for dust, pollen, and smoke, respectively, is evidence enough here.Â
Better yet, it repeats the air filtration cycle every 12 minutes, amounting to an ACH rating of five air changes per hour.Â
It doesn’t feature built-in air quality sensors, which is a real shame, but the “Friend App†makes up for it to a degree, allowing you to monitor local outdoor air quality, instead. Even more so, it supports remote control, enabling you to turn the Classic 605 on or off, adjust fan speed, set a timer, and more.
As for the noise, it’s whisper-quiet, clocking in at 32 dB at the lowest fan setting. The medium and high settings are undoubtedly more noticeable, but far from loud, nonetheless.Â
Blueair Classic 605 Air Purifier: Pros & Cons to Keep In Mind

Decision Time: Is Blueair Classic 605 the Best Air Purifier for You?
I can’t help but wrap this Blueair Classic 605 review without pointing out what an excellent air purifier this is. It ranks among the best-performing consumer-grade air purifiers currently on the market.Â
But before you run off and get the Blueair Classic 605, keep in mind that this is a high-end option.Â
If your budget allows it, though, go for it – the HEPASilent technology, high ACH rating, and unmatched CADR can make a genuine difference in your home’s indoor air quality!
