In this article, we review the iRobot Roomba s9+ (9550).
The s9+ has incredibly great smart features navigation, excellent cleaning performance and tons of smart features. However, it also has a pretty steep price tag. Is it worth the money? We will find out in this article. We also compare the roomba s9+ vs i7+ in this article, find out the pros and cons of them.

iRobot Roomba s9+: Design
Looking at the design on s9+, it is notably different from other Roomba Robots because of the D-shaped body style as opposed to the circular shape of other Roomba models.
Taking a closer view on the controls, the clean button starts or pauses the cleaning cycle. The home button sends Roomba back to its charging base and the spot button tells the vacuum to spot clean specific areas in the cleaning cycle.
On underside of the vacuum, the parts are similar to other Roomba models, but the arrangement of the parts is different on the s9. The s9+ robot vacuum is 12 inches in diameter, 3.5 inches tall and weighs 8 pounds. The charging base is 19 inches tall, 15 inches deep and 12 inches wide.
iRobot Roomba s9+: Power
In this Roomba s9+ review, we notice it comes to the number of important accessories including the charging base, two disposable bags for the clean base, two HEPA filters and two spinning brushes. Its cleaning performance also was truly exceptional.
The s9+ removed 99% of all debris on each floor type, including hardwood, low pile carpet and high pile carpet. It increased suction power 40 times stronger than the Roomba 600 series.
For comparison, the i7+ two disposable bags to clean base to have a filter offers 10 times stronger suction than the 600 so there’s a pretty big leap there. The s9+ did miss a few pieces of debris on each test, but it wasn’t enough to measure on our digital scale.
iRobot Roomba s9+: Operation
Setting up on the s9+ is both simple and straightforward. It just is plugging in the base, putting the robot on the base, giving us some time to charge and when it’s ready, pressing clean and it’ll get started. You can also control the s9+ from your phone.
The s9+ also includes zone mapping and keep out zones to tell the s9+ to stay out of a particular area.
To maintain the Roomba s9+, you’ll need to regularly replace the spinning brushes as well as the filter. Beyond that, you will eventually need to replace the rubberized brush roll battery and smart based disposal bag, but these parts will last longer.
iRobot Roomba s9+: Our Final Verdict
Should you buy the Roomba s9+ even though it is incredibly pricey? It also includes advanced features available of robot vacuums today. It is great for anyone who wants excellent cleaning performance.
The s9+ scored virtually flawlessly across all of our cleaning tests, making it one of the best robot vacuums we’ve tested to-date. In addition, it is great if you want the self emptying dust spin.

This is a feature we’ve only seen from iRobot on the s9+ and i7+. While this feature is incredibly advanced, you definitely do have to spend more money to get it and finally the s9+ is great if you’re not afraid to spend a little extra money for quality.
The Roomba s9+ is one of the most expensive robot vacuum cleaners on the market. However, if budget isn’t a concern, it has some of the most bleeding edge, cool features on the market and the cleaning performance speaks for itself.
