Pros

Design

The 675 has a central clean button, lift handle and soft bumper to use and navigation. On the bottom it has a central bristle style brush roll, spinning side brush and navigational wheels. Included with the Roomba 675 is a charging station, power cord and extra filter.

Size & Dimensions

The Roomba 675 is 13.4 inches in diameter and 3.5 inches tall and it weighs 11.8 pounds.

Cleaning performance

We tested the Roomba 675 on three different floor types and against four different debris types.

Hardwood floor

On hardwood floors, the Roomba 675 did a great job on all debris types, scoring 99% in our cleaning tests. We did note that a piece of kitty litter did appear to be stuck in a wheel and left some dry residue on the hardwood; however, it was easy to wipe away with a rag.

Low pile carpets

On low pile carpets, the 675 cleaned nearly all the cereal, kitty litter and rice, but struggled a bit on sugar; nevertheless, it still scored an impressive 95%.

High pile carpets

Lastly on high pile carpets, the 675 did well on all the debris types. The 675 removed 90% of all debris, high pile carpet tests are typically the most difficult for robot vacuums. A budget friendly robot vacuum scoring a 90% is very good among other competing robots.

Battery life

The battery takes two to three hours to fully charge and the Roomba can run for 90 minutes on a full charge.

Usability

The Roomba 675 is easy to use and it becomes even easier if you download the Irobot home app. Without the app, you only need to press the Clean button to start cleaning and the dock button to send the room back to its base. If you do use the app, you can easily connect it to your Roomba, then use the app to start and stop cleaning, view cleaning history and schedule future cleanings.

Cons

No virtual walls

One drawback to the Roomba 675 is that it doesn’t include a virtual wall barrier. These barriers can be helpful in marking off sensitive areas that we don’t want our Roomba to access. If a virtual wall barrier is important to us, we can buy one separately and use it with 675.

No rubberized brush roll

The brush roll on the Roomba 675 is the bristle style brush roll, which is great at general cleaning but is more prone to tangling compared to Roomba more advanced rubberized brush roll.

Maintenance costs

To maintain the Roomba 675 we’ll need to clean the filter and empty the dust bin. We will need to replace some parts like the filter and replacement costs will likely run around $33 per year.

It’s not an elegant navigational system, but for smaller homes or spaces with simple layouts, it works just fine and we don’t have to spend the extra money on advanced navigation.
